In 2022, a tragic incident shook our Northlake community, leaving two of our dedicated officers facing immense personal challenges. It was a time of dire need, a moment when the very individuals who protect us found themselves in need of protection and support.
That's when you, our incredible NCPAAA family, stepped up and out quickly. Your outpouring of generosity led to a critical contribution of $16,000, providing nine months of essential support that became a lifeline for these officers and their families. It was more than money; it was a testament to our collective compassion, a steady hand that helped them navigate a profoundly difficult period.
Your past generosity not only helped them; it sustained them. As we look ahead, the need for this vital support continues. We invite you once again to stand with us, to help us ensure that our brave officers always know they have a community ready to lift them up.
As a dedicated support team for our local law enforcement, one of our favorite and most impactful roles is bridging the gap between what the police department needs and what their standard operating budget covers. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, donors, and neighbors, the NCPAAA has been able to step in over the years to purchase vital, specialized equipment that directly enhances officer safety and community outreach.
When you support the NCPAAA, your donations turn into tangible tools that make a difference on the Northlake streets every single day. Here is a look at some of the essential gear we’ve been proud to provide for our department:
Community-Minded Mobility: We purchased two police bicycles, allowing officers to get out of their patrol cars, interact closely with neighbors, and easily navigate local events and tight spaces.
Life-Saving Prep: We supplied specialized first-aid kits that go above and beyond standard issue, ensuring officers have advanced medical tools right at their fingertips during critical emergencies.
Tactical Entry Tools: When seconds count, officers need reliable equipment. We provided heavy-duty battering rams, giving the team the safe and effective means to breach doors quickly during high-stakes situations.
Peak Physical Fitness: Keeping our officers strong, healthy, and ready for action is a top priority. Through a wonderful collaboration, we partnered with a local community associate who generously donated a high-quality rowing machine to the department gym, supporting our officers' daily physical training and cardiovascular health.
Every dollar donated to the NCPAAA goes right back into supporting the men and women who protect us. We are so incredibly grateful for your continued support, which allows us to keep equipping the Northlake Police Department with the extra tools they need to come home safe at the end of every shift.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep Northlake a safe, warm, and thriving place to live!
It all started with a simple act of quiet kindness.
A few years ago, Northlake’s own Chief Crawford noticed a need in our community that he couldn't ignore. Some elementary school children in our local schools were going through their days without enough to eat. Believing that no child should have to worry about an empty stomach while trying to learn, the Chief stepped up - quietly using his own money to buy, pack, and distribute snack packs to local kids who needed a little extra boost.
When Chief Crawford realized the need was growing, he knew he needed a team to help keep the momentum going. He reached out and asked the NCPAAA to step in and take over the program. We answered the call with open arms, incredibly honored to carry the torch and turn a personal passion project into a community-wide circle of care.
How It Works Today
Today, the Snack Pack program is a thriving, joyful team effort:
The Prep: Every single month during the school year, our dedicated NCPAAA volunteers gather together to assemble 100 nutritious snack packs.
The Hand-off: Once the bags are packed with love and goodies, we deliver them straight to the Northlake Police Department.
The Delivery: Our local police officers—the familiar faces our community knows and trusts - take it from there, personally delivering the packs to local elementary schools.
Why It Matters
A snack pack is more than just juice boxes, crackers, and granola bars. For a child in need, it’s a message that their community cares about them, supports them, and is looking out for them. By partnering directly with the police department and school staff, we ensure these snacks get directly into the hands of the kids who need them most, discreetly and compassionately.
What started with one chief's generosity has now grown into a beautiful tradition of neighbors helping neighbors. We are incredibly proud to keep Chief Crawford’s vision alive, one snack pack at a time.
Want to get involved? Whether you want to donate snack items, contribute financially, or volunteer your time at our next packing event, there is always room at the table. Together, we can make sure no Northlake kid goes hungry.
